About W3C

It is important that your website looks good and invites people in. It is also important that the color scheme looks well thought out, and your images are sized correctly to help your page load as quickly as possible. But more crucial than anything else, it is important that you website functions the way it is supposed to, and that people are able to view your website in all the popular browsers.

That is where the standards of the W3C (The World Wide Web Consortium) come in to play.

We adhere to W3C guidelines

This will assure you the largest possible viewing audience

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is a group of technology developers, content providers, corporate users, research laboratories, standards bodies, governments and officials, that develops interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential. W3C is a forum for information, commerce, communication, and collective understanding.

In english, it means they help layout guidelines for responsible web developers to follow, and by doing so the site will be able to be viewed by the maximum amount of browsers. Internet Explorer, Opera, Netscape, FireFox - these are all browsers in use today (to name only a few), and they all display information differently.

It will also allow search engines (Google, Yahoo, Ask, etc.) to "crawl", or find, your website. Getting it listed in the massive search engine databases - resulting in more viewers.

The W3C also offers validation tools that check the code that makes up your website to let you know if anything does not comply with the most current web standards. We work within W3C standards and validate all of our sites to give you the best site possible.

Everyone benefits from this practice, be it normal browser users, people accessing the web via PDA or Cell Phone, blind users with page readers - the list is endless.

At Hangnail Productions - we design every site for the long run.

That is why we strive to comply to W3C standards.
